The short answer
AZ Easy CPA provides bookkeeping for service businesses and the trades, including therapists, dental practices, salons and barbershops, restaurants, plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, contractors, pool service and landscaping companies. We set up QuickBooks around how your industry actually earns and spends money, then keep it reconciled every month from our Chandler office.
Why does industry experience matter for bookkeeping?
Every industry has its own money flow. A dental office earns through insurance and patient payments, a restaurant through a POS and delivery apps, a contractor through deposits and progress bills. A bookkeeper who knows that flow sets up the right accounts from day one, so your reports answer the questions you actually ask.
Generic bookkeeping puts everything into a few buckets. That works until you want to know which service line makes money or why your bank balance does not match your sales report.
Chris builds a chart of accounts for your industry, connects the software you already use, and reconciles it every month. The goal is books that make sense to you, not just to an accountant.
Do you work with therapists and dental practices?
Yes. Healthcare practices deal with insurance payers, patient balances and practice software that rarely talks cleanly to QuickBooks. We help therapists, counselors and dentists match what was billed to what was actually collected, and we keep the books focused on payment data, never clinical notes.
Bookkeeping for therapists and counselors covers private pay and insurance deposits, exports from tools like SimplePractice and TherapyNotes, and group practices with both W-2 and 1099 clinicians.
Bookkeeping for dental practices covers production versus collections, insurance write-offs, lab fees, equipment financing and associate pay tracked from Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Open Dental reports.
Do you work with salons, barbershops and restaurants?
Yes, and these are some of our favorite clients. Salons, barbershops and restaurants run on card deposits, tips and lots of small transactions every day. We help sort out net deposits, booth rent, commissions, POS reports and delivery app payouts so the books match what really happened.
Bookkeeping for salons and barbershops covers booth rent, commission and employee chairs, retail product inventory, tips and deposits from Square, Vagaro and Booksy.
Restaurant bookkeeping covers POS reconciliation for Toast, Square and Clover, delivery app payouts, food and beverage cost, tips, inventory counts and Arizona transaction privilege tax recorded correctly.
What kinds of trade businesses do you help?
We work with plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, general and specialty contractors, pool service companies and landscapers. Trade businesses need job costing, clean tracking of materials and labor, and field service software that syncs correctly with QuickBooks. Our trades page explains how we handle all of it.
Start with our bookkeeping for the trades overview, then see the page for your line of work:
- Plumber bookkeeping: service calls, materials and truck stock
- HVAC bookkeeping: maintenance plans and the Arizona summer rush
- Electrician bookkeeping: job costing for service and project work
- Contractor bookkeeping: progress billing, retainage and work in progress
- Pool service bookkeeping: recurring routes and seasonal repairs
- Landscaping bookkeeping: maintenance contracts, crews and equipment
Many trade owners also need financial statements for bonding or a bank. Our compilation services can help when a surety or lender asks for them.
Do you work with nonprofits?
Yes. Nonprofits need fund accounting, grant tracking and reports a board can read, which is different from a for-profit setup. We help organizations track restricted and unrestricted funds and keep records ready for the partner who prepares the Form 990.
See our nonprofit accounting page for how we set up QuickBooks for nonprofits, allocate expenses between program, management and general, and fundraising, and prepare board-ready reports.
What stays the same no matter your industry?
The way we work. You get a free phone call to start, a small team that knows your books, secure file sharing and monthly reconciliations. Monthly bookkeeping plans typically start around $300 a month, and we quote your plan after the free call once we understand your volume and complexity.
Chris is a CPA and a QuickBooks ProAdvisor at the Elite tier, and Hillary returns calls and keeps things moving. We keep the team small on purpose, so you always talk to people who know your business.
We do not prepare tax returns or run payroll in house. We work with trusted tax and payroll partners and keep your books ready for them.

Industries questions
My industry is not listed. Can you still help?
Probably, yes. Chris works with many kinds of small businesses, and the basics of clean, reconciled books apply everywhere. Give us a call and we will tell you honestly whether we are a good fit.
Can you work with the software I already use?
In most cases, yes. We work in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, and Chris handles NetSuite work himself. We connect or reconcile exports from practice management, POS and field service tools.
How much does industry bookkeeping cost?
Monthly bookkeeping plans typically start around $300 a month. Pricing depends on transaction volume, the number of accounts and complexity, and we quote it after a free call.
Do you handle taxes and payroll?
We do not prepare tax returns or process payroll in house. We work with trusted partners for both and keep your books organized for them.
What if my books are already a mess?
That is common and nothing to be embarrassed about. Chris will look at where things stand and recommend cleanup or catch-up work before monthly bookkeeping begins.
